The Rise of Early Brain Degeneration—and Why Chiropractic Care Is More Important Than Ever
Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s are now diseases of the young. This news should shake you to your core. No longer is this only being diagnosed in people in the sunset of their lives, they are being recognized in 39- and 40-year-old adults. 39 and 40! That is unbelievable. No longer can we call them diseases of the aged. That is very scary. That revelation should cause you to ask a couple questions: why are we seeing this, and what can we do about it, so it doesn’t happen to me?
Why Did the Chiropractor Cross the Road?
If you have ever visited my office, you would see that I put a “joke of the week” on my white board. This serves a couple of purposes. The simplest one being that it relaxes people. Not just my patients, but myself as well. It is hard to be stressed or anxious when you are laughing. The real reason I put a joke on the board is because of your brain. Wait, what? Jokes effect our brain? Yes. And in a very specific way.
Let’s Reinvent New Year’s Day
What if we made September our New Year’s Day? Would that not make sense? September is such a time of change; kids getting back to school, programs start up again, and summer is on its way out. What a great time to make a change as well. But really, New Year’s Day can really be any day of the year.
